Triennale Internazionale del Legno 2014

Workshop, organized by AGATN (Association of Young Architects of Trentino Region) and sponsored by the Association of Artisans and Small Businesses of Trento Province (Completed)
Trento, Italy

Triennal International Wood Exhibition 2014, workshop for the design of the exhibition spaces of the cultural pavillion. The purpose of the workshop is to underline the importance of recycling in contemporary set-ups, by designing the outfitting in both scenic and functional-distribution ways, using a new working method based on collective (15 architects involved), active and sustainable planning. We decided to organize the intervention area (surface 2500 sq. m.) by dividing it into three main zones: the first zone lets the visitors be free to move around the historical wooden objects exhibited; the second zone is a rigid structure where Sweden, guest nation of this edition, will exhibit its products; the third zone is articulated by multifunctional wooden frameworks which can work as partition walls, as exhibitors or as benches. Particular attention has been paid on the relationship between the interior and the exterior of the exhibition spaces, by imagining a net of advertisement signals, spread all around the city, and by creating a suggestive wooden portal at the entrance of the fair.
